Postcards from Paris: My Temporary Move with Blueground

Bonjur!

There’s something about Paris that gets under your skin in the best possible way. It’s the kind of city that knows how to seduce you—slowly, with beauty tucked into every corner, and then suddenly, all at once.

This spring, I temporarily relocated to the 2nd arrondissement of Paris with Blueground, and from the moment I stepped through the doors of my apartment, I felt like I’d been dropped straight into a film.

The building was everything I dream of when I think about the old world: Haussmannian bones, ornate balconies, wrought iron railings, and that gorgeous Parisian patina that can’t be replicated. My apartment was perched above a charming corner street, and the balcony—oh, the balcony—became my favorite place in the world. Morning coffee, afternoon wine, late-night people watching—it was all a ritual. From the balcony, I could hear the hum of the city below: laughter from outdoor cafés, clinking glasses, the occasional accordion somewhere in the distance. There’s a rhythm to life here that makes you want to slow down and really see things again.

The Apartment

Blueground made the move effortless. The apartment was fully furnished, thoughtfully designed, and filled with natural light. It felt calm, grounded, and private—like my own little cocoon in the middle of the city. I loved the balance of historic architecture with clean, modern interiors. It had everything I needed to settle in comfortably but still feel very much in Paris.

The Neighborhood

Staying in the 2nd arrondissement was a dream. I was surrounded by local markets, cafés, boutiques, and enough boulangeries to keep me fully committed to the croissant lifestyle. Within walking distance were some of my favorite streets for a morning stroll or an impromptu photo walk. And with the metro just steps away, it was easy to explore other corners of the city in minutes.

The Everyday Magic

Paris invites you to live with intention. Fresh flowers from the corner florist. A glass of red at a sidewalk café. Watching the light shift across the rooftops. There’s so much elegance in the everyday here. I found myself waking up earlier just to catch the morning golden hour filtering through the tall windows. Blueground gave me the rare gift of being able to live in Paris—not just visit it. And that’s the difference. This stay has reminded me that sometimes a temporary move can create permanent perspective shifts.

More details on the apartment and neighborhood are coming soon in a full city + stay guide, but for now—I’m savoring the slowness, the romance, and every story written from the balcony.
